Midwest Rugby Football Union

The schedule for the 2013 Midwest Sevens Series Qualifiers are listed below, and sees the addition of the Minnesota 7s as the opening event on June 15.  We also see the return of Firehouse, Lakefront, Rock Hard & Rock'n Roll 7s, who will each host both Men's and Women's Qualifiers.

In addition, there will be a format change, in that all qualifiers will follow the same bracketing structure, with pools in a seeding round, a playoff round, and a championship round.  Pools will be set each week by random draw, much like the iRB Sevens Series.

Men's Qualifiers:
Minnesota 7s — Elk River, MN — June 15
Firehouse 7s — Lemont, IL — June 22
Lakefront 7s — Milwaukee, WI — June 29
Rock and Roll 7s — Cleveland, OH — July 13
Rock Hard 7s — Grand Rapids, MI — July 20

Women's Qualifiers:

Firehouse 7s — Lemont, IL — June 22
Lakefront 7s — Milwaukee, WI — June 29
Rock and Roll 7s — Cleveland, OH — July 13
Rock Hard 7s — Grand Rapids, MI — July 20

The Midwest Rugby Union has formed a committee to look into the restructure to the USA Rugby mandated Geographical Union.  Committee members will be looking to satisfy GU requirements...but with the focus being on how to best serve our members.

In addition, this committee will develop a proposal, keying on player-based dues rather than club-level dues, to serve the Midwest budget during this transition period.

Committee Members are:

Jeremiah Johnson - Chair

Becky Reynolds - Minnesota

Victor Drover - Wisconsin

Steve Murra - Iowa/Women's Collegiate Clubs

Lou Raymond - CARFU

Jeremy Mantei - Michigan

John Mullett - Michigan/Men's Collegiate Clubs
